Internal Double Degree

The School of Polytechnic and Basic Sciences has launched its first Internal Double Master’s Degree (DLMI) pathways. “Internal double master’s degree” (DLMI) pathways are modern advanced-education tools designed to foster interdisciplinary education across Master’s Degree Programmes that are related or that cover a broad disciplinary range. The DLMI “A+B” pathway allows students to obtain both Master’s Degrees “A” and “B” within an overall nominal period of three years.

The A+B internal double master’s degree (DLMI A+B) is based on identifying, within Master’s Degree Programme A, a set of educational activities (normally corresponding to between 50 and 70 ECTS credits, including the Master’s thesis) that are fully recognised towards obtaining Master’s Degree B. Admission to the DLMI A+B pathway requires specific prerequisites. Students are also required to follow a predefined study plan that guarantees the recognition of all credits acquired. At the end of the 2nd nominal year, upon completion of all the required educational activities, students obtain Master’s Degree A. Joining the DLMI A+B pathway allows students to enrol directly in the second year of Master’s Degree Programme B, with recognition of the credits already acquired and a shortened course of study. At the end of the third nominal year of the DLMI A+B pathway, upon completion of all the required educational activities, students obtain Master’s Degree B.
